Electrical Installation is a suitable course for students interested in domestic electrical work or working with data cabling or telecommunications.

What will you be learning?

Electricians work with others in the construction industry such as plumbers, joiners or bricklayers on residential, commercial and industrial settings. As an electrician you would work inside the homes of customers ? you may be mending light fittings or completely rewiring a house. Working safely and within relevant standards and requirements is important for an electrician so attention to detail is important in this industry. During the course you will learn about how electrical systems work as well as wiring electrical equipment and circuits, assembling electrical cable enclosures and testing electrical panels and components. This level 2 qualification also includes aspects such as forming and assembling electrical cable enclosures and support systems and wiring and testing electrical panels.

Duration: 36 weeks (Full Time)

Hours spent per week: 16 hrs

How is it delivered? When you do a vocational qualification you will learn in a workshop, salon or studio as appropriate for your subject and you will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.
